BORDER SECURITY FORCE RESCUED TWO BANGLADESHI WOMEN FROM THE CLUTCHES OF HUMAN TRAFFICKERS

In two separate incidents South Bengal Frontier, BSF rescued two Bangladeshi women from the clutches of human traffickers who were brought to India from Bangladesh 12 years ago by human traffickers. On December 16, 2021, both the women were trying to illegally return to Bangladesh from the area of ​​​​Bithari and Tarali Border Out Post, 112 Battalion, North 24 Parganas. On seeing the troops of BSF, the touts fled away, leaving the Bangladeshi women on the spot.
The identity of rescued women-
i ) Reena Begum (fictitious name) , age 36 years, District – Jessore (Bangladesh)
ii) Hasina was born as Sardar (fictitious name), age- 27 years, District- Satkhira (Bangladesh).

During preliminary interrogation, both the rescued Bangladeshi women revealed that they are Bangladeshi nationals. Further Reena Begum (fictitious name) revealed that 06 years ago she illegally crossed the International Boundary with a Bangladeshi tout Zakir Khan (Village – Ghobel, Post – Gol Bazar, Police Station – Kotwali Thana, District – Jessore (Bangladesh). After coming to India, she moved to Mumbai where she worked as a domestic servant for 1 year, then in 2016 Zakir Khan took her to Shobha Bazar (Kolkata) and there Zakir Khan forced her into the work of prostitution. After that she fled from Shobha Bazar (Kolkata) to Tarali, on January 05, 2021 she was detained by BSF while crossing the International Boundary illegally. When she came out after detention in Dum Dum jail for two months, Zakir Khan promised to take her back to Bangladesh and got her to work in prostitution, but on December 16, with the help of a customer, she managed to escape and was crossing the International Boundary with the help of an unknown Indian tout with Rs 9700/-. But the Border Security Force took her into custody during the search near the Border Out Post Bithari. She further revealed that about 50 other Bangladeshi girls are involved in prostitution along with her in Shobha Bazar (Kolkata).

Another rescued Bangladeshi woman, Hasina Sardar(Fictitious Nmae), revealed that in 2019 she came to India illegally crossing the International Boundary with the help of a Bangladeshi tout named Mamta and used to do prostitution work in Shobha Bazar (Kolkata). After that she went back to Bangladesh and came to India twice from Petrapole with passport and visa and engaged in prostitution work. But this time due to expired visa, he was detained by the Border Security Force while trying to cross the International Boundary to Bangladesh. The woman had given Rs 15,000/- to an Indian broker Khairul to cross the International Boundary.

Both the rescued Bangladeshi women were handed over to Swarupnagar Police Station for further legal proceedings.

The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier has expressed happiness over this achievement of rescuing two Bangladeshi women from human traffickers by their jawans and also stated that it is the best example of careful and meticulous duty of our jawans. He further stated that South Bengal Frontier, BSF has deployed Anti Human Trafficking Unit in the border areas to stop human trafficking.
