Former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh sent to 14 day judicial custody in money laundering case

Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the early hours of Tuesday (November 2) in connection with the alleged Rs 100-crore extortion and money laundering case.

Now, today (November 6), Deshmukh was remanded to 14-day judicial custody by a special holiday court in Mumbai. While the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought his remand for nine more days, the Mumbai court rejected ED’s plea and sent Deshmukh to judicial custody.
