In retaliation to China’s Army August 29/30 attempt to snatch Indian territory near Pangong Tso, the Indian Army on Monday captured an important Chinese military camp in the surrounding hills in the south of Pangong Tso lake, The Telegraph has reported.

This military action by India is said to have taken place on the early morning of Monday (31 August). Control of such high altitude areas provides good control over the enemy. reports said.

As per the report, this action by India was in direct retaliation to China’s military aggression wherein it sent 500 of its troops to try and cross into Spanggur – which is a narrow valley near Chushul.https://twitter.com/AdityaRajKaul/status/1300679994411155458
Statements that came soon after highlights the importance of heights in these regions. “The Chinese had planned to capture these heights which would have given them an advantage. In such terrain, anyone who has the heights holds the upper hand,” the source said.
As of now, a second round of brigade commander-level talks is on between China and India at Chusul.
This report comes on the heels of a revelation that the Indian Army has gained a big advantage over the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) by successfully beating it to occupy a strategic height at the southern region of the Pangong Tso lake.
