Remand Of 3 Top Hefazat Militant Leaders

The Hasina Government is pursuing old cases of violence against Hifazat leaders with a vengeance since the Islanist radical group launched violent action against Indian PM Narendra Modi’s Bangladesh visit.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun on Thursday passed an order of a five-day remand of central assistant secretary general of the militant outfit Hefazat Islam Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji and 2 other militant leaders on each in a case filed over arson attack in Shapla Chattor of Dhaka’s Motijheel area in 5 May 2013.

The two other Hefazat leaders are Fakhrul Islam and Manjurul Islam Afendi.

Earlier, police produced them before the court seeking 10 days’ remand for them.
