Shillong In Cherry Blossom Bloom

The virus is in the air but that, fortunately, couldn’t dampen the spirit of Shillong and its undying aesthetic penchant to turn pink during this time of the year. And though 2020 may have barred us from many good things, the spawning of Cheery Blossoms in Shillong is thankfully not on the list.

Had it not been the pandemic woes, a good number of tourists from across the world, around this time of the year, would have flown to Shillong to witness the International Cherry Blossom festival that Shillong in Meghalaya hosts every year.

Nevertheless, despite the fact that there is less crowd to adore it for its wows, the blossoms continue to bloom and they look so aesthetic. Have a look:

Besides Shillong, Japan’s Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled for spring, is one of the most sought followed by South Korea and even the one in France’s Paris.

The Cherry blossom festival in Shillong, until last year, use to be a gathering of tourists and locally organised events including live music among other activities like dance competitions, pageants, cuisine, wine, arts and craft.
