Tension is palpable and rising between border guards of India and Bangladesh in Tripura’s southern Sabroom town.
Around 4 PM on Friday , a Bangladesh national believed to a lunatic tried to enter into Indian territory by crossing the river Feni .
His attempted crossing was through the unfenced area at Anandapara close to the Maiti bridge construction site opposite to Ramghar in Bangladesh.
However, Indian villagers stopped him and BSF troopers tried to send him back to Bangladesh.
At that point a BGB patrol raise alarm on the Bangladesh side, leading to tension between the two border guards.
At around 7.50 PM, Commandent of 66 battalion of BSF along with some of his personnel entered Bangladesh for a flag meeting to discuss the issue.
Generally flag meetings take place at the zero point in the border but on Friday, the BGB didn’t agree to it .
Taken aback, the BSF tried to convince the BGB but the matter had not been resolved yet.
